Claymore vol 1 silver eyed slayer5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() Claymores are young women, trained in sword arts, possessing some spiritual - energetic (I guess?) techniques and they work for mysterious Organization and kill monsters - yomas, demonic cannibals, that are especially infatuated with human innards. The world of pseudo-middle ages is brutal and cruel, the life of Claymores - as people call them for the swords they're wielding - often short and full of blood and gore, and if in the end they get killed by their colleagues - it's the best outcome, usually. It's more concentrated, the art is beautiful, there are no fillers (you know these endless fight scenes and villains' monologues). ![]() I just had to check, right here and right now.Īnd what can I say - it's true, manga is even better. But lately I found out on some youtube channel that series are finished in a pretty number of 27 volumes and that manga is actually even more awesome. I loved Claymore instantly, but alas, there was just one season and while waiting for season two, I got carried away from the franchise to other shores. ![]() ![]() I watched Claymore anime series some 10 years ago, when I was looking for something to fill the dark void in my heart that was left after never ending Berserk series. Blood*guts*big swords*cool females*monsters ![]()

Jane austen by a lady5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() In the latter text, Austen had written: 'A woman, especially, if she has the misfortune of knowing anything, should conceal it as well as she can.'Īlthough today she is one of the most celebrated novelists of all time, during her own lifetime she only received little personal fame. After Austen's death in 1817, Henry posthumously published Persuasion and Northanger Abbey, for the first time identifying his sister as the author. Since she never married, Austen sent her work to publishers through her brother Henry. Not only was it deemed 'improper', but impractical seeing as women didn't have the legal power to sign contracts. To be acknowledged as a female writer in the late eighteenth century did not sit well with societal notions of 'respectability'. This pencil and watercolour work of Austen was completed by her sister Cassandra Austen in around 1810. ![]() Cassandra Austen (1773) National Portrait Gallery, London ![]()

Regretsy by April Winchell5/13/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Based on the eponymous hit blog and arranged in categories such as Décor, Pet Humiliation, and Christmas, Regretsy.” All this and more await you in the pages of Regretsy, a veritable sideshow of handcrafts gone wrong. A clock made out of an old “mostly clean” cheese grater. The site is long gone, but she compiled her fan favorites into a book that you can buy online. You can see at least one sample of her posts here. The site’s tagine was, “Handmade? It looks like you made it with your feet.” She regularly researched the popular handmade/vintage website looking for the most awful creations she could find, and reposted them with a snarky description. The author, the multi-facetted and multi-talented April Winchell, created the site, inspired by (duh) Etsy. Don’t bother looking for it, it’s long gone. Years ago, I came across a bizarre and funny website called. It may take time to find your audience, but it’s out there somewhere! ![]()
